Eric Olson Receives Progressive Maryland Endorsement
Olson honored to earn endorsement from group fighting for working families
This week, Eric Olson - Democratic candidate for Prince George's County Council District Three and a College Park City Councilman - received the endorsement of Progressive Maryland, a statewide grassroots advocacy group comprised of thousands of members and supported by fifty labor, civil rights, faith-based, and community organizations.
"I am honored to receive this important endorsement" said Olson, "and to stand on the side of advocates like Progressive Maryland who fight for working families." Olson also remarked, "I share Progressive Maryland's commitment to making our communities stronger, through ensuring good jobs, a living wage, affordable health care, quality education, and accessible public transportation. I will work hard to make each of these goals a reality as a member of the Prince George's County Council."
Sean Dobson, Progressive Maryland's Acting Director, said "Progressive Maryland enthusiastically endorses Eric Olson because he has a long and successful record of standing up for working people, fighting for civil rights, and protecting the environment." Dobson continued, "Eric will bring strong and effective progressive leadership to the Prince George's County Council and we look forward to working with him."
Progressive Maryland is the state's leading coalition of labor, civil rights, faith-based, and community organizing groups. They are an effective advocacy group shaping Maryland public policy, winning an increase in the minimum wage, passing the "Fair Share Health Care" bill, advocating for clean elections, fighting against energy rate hikes, and promoting transportation alternatives like the Purple Line.
